"Panda Bear" is a sumi-e (Japanese Brush Painting) in my series of minimalist zen artworks. I used traditional soot ink and powerful brush strokes, as I do in all my paintings, in order to create a lasting visual impression. Art buyers and art lovers often remark on my interpretation of traditional Asian masters as I pay homage to their artistic vision but have a contemporary modern twist in my own art.
This is an original sumi-e painting by professional Artist Brazen Edwards measuring approximately 9.5" x 12.5" (24.13cm x31.75cm) on 140lb Arches rough watercolour paper.
Although the Panda may be cute and cuddly in appearance the symbolism behind them means they are very strong. Keep this in mind when making judgments based on first appearances. The black and white colouring depicts the yin yang symbols indicating the importance of balance between masculine and feminine energies. When Panda surfaces it is good to work on balancing anything that is off skelter in your life.15 percent of sale goes towards Defenders of Wildlife - a national, nonprofit membership organization dedicated to the protection of all native animals and plants in their natural communities. http://www.defenders.org
